In January 2010, GUD founders David and Janet Underwood went to the village for the opening of the school. The whole village turned out to celebrate and a local dancing kankouran warded off bad spirits.

GUD trustee Ella Spencer speaks with Nfansu Darboe, a teacher at the nursery school and a key player in the charity's success in Kanubeh.

Nfansu talks about the impact that the school has already had on the villagers and the children. He also discusses the importance of education and the need of villagers to be supported while they take on new self-reliant projects.
